Milano Cafe - A Taste of Italy in Austin

Characteristic of most places in Austin, Milano is located in a strip mall area surrounded by trees on Southwest Parkway, neighboring laundromats and spa services.

Don't be fooled by the outside, though! When you walk in, you will feel like you've been transported to a chic cafe in Europe, decorated with art, high ceiling and vibrant colors. Most importantly, you will certainly not miss the dessert on display!

The staff is friendly and will make you feel at home as soon as you walk in. You will soon discover that this is a family-owned local business.

The menu is unpretentious and the price is fair. You will certainly get your cravings for carbs fulfilled! There are also antipasti items on the menu and other types of entrees, but we specifically came here for carbs :)

We ordered the Drunken Linguine and the Italian flag and each entree comes with a salad.

Drunken Linguine
The drunken linguine is unlike any pasta dish I have ever eaten and if you like olives, this will definitely become your favorite dishes here.

Italian Flag
The Italian Flag Andie's go to dish. If you aren't into cream sauces this is perfect. The sun dried tomatoes, broccoli and spicy sausage are perfect mix with the light olive oil sauce.

The pasta is cooked al dente, and the dishes always tastes fresh. Always delicious for a lazy Saturday afternoon!

Next up is their dessert, we ordered the Italian Cream Cake and their special dessert of the season, the Limoncello with Berries. They tasted light and the cake was moist. Best of all, these are made with their own special recipes so best to save space for them!
