Fall 2017 Mood Board (So Far...)

I am so excited that Fall is just around the corner (even if it's not really that autumnal in Texas). Fall fashion is my favourite, and I look forward to my collection of September issues every year.

One of my favourite things to do is to put together a quick mood board just before, or at the start of, the season of what I'm inspired by and want incorporate into my style. As the season goes on, it evolves and grows, but here's mine as of right now.

This year is seeing a real return of the '70s with looks inspired by the sportswear of the decade, but with a modern update. This a great trend to hit up a local thrift store or eBay to find affordable pieces.

Layering oversized sweaters over longer-length skirts was everywhere on the runway. This looks is elegant, cozy and effortless,  and probably one of the most "me" trends out there.

Prints typically associated with menswear are in. Plaid, a personal fave, has made a huge comeback, and I will be rocking it this year.

For accessories, mules with brocade and embroidered designs are eye catching, while crushed velvet adds a luxe addition to any look. For colours, jewel tones add a pop to an outfit, and blush tones are a soft compliment to any look.
