Back to School Style in 3 Looks

It's been a little while since I last had to go back to school in the fall, but I still remember how excited I would get for new clothes, and all the outfits I would supposedly wear that year. Let's (most of us) be honest though and admit that above cute outfits, dressing for school is all about comfort.

So, here are three basic looks I would rock at school. I was and am a big fan of layering in the early weeks of back-to-school season, because even though I'm mentally over it, September is still pretty warm most place in the US. I never showed up in sweats or pajamas, but as you can see, I liked to be comfortable in my clothing choices.
Look One
Casual and comfortable with these legging pants, which are both super comfortable and also appropriate (I won't go into it here, but a lot of leggings are just too thin to be pants), from Uniqlo. I paired this with a bright cami from Cotton:On. Over top, I picked this denim shirt, which I would get in a size or two bigger for layering, from H&M. The gray shoes, also from H&M, complete this ensemble while still leaving the bright cami at the focus.
Look Two
A monochromatic colour scheme is always chic, effortless-feeling, and a great go-to. For this look I layered a loose bomber jacket from the Who What Wear (LOVE this brand!) line at Target over a classic striped dress from H&M. Then, for shoes, I chose these on-trend slides from Forever21. I love the hints of gold in the hardware of both the shoes and jacket, so if I was going to add jewelry, I'd go for gold.
Look Three
For this last look I went a bit '80s and '90s with distressed mom jeans from Cotton:On and this awesome NASA tee from Forever21. I don't know if it's the recent eclipse on my mind, or what, but I WANT this tee. I don't care that I'd probably only be able to wear it on weekends. Lastly, I've been loving the velvet trend for this upcoming fall and felt like this quirky look would match well with this pair, also from Forever21.

I didn't add bags or accessories to these looks, as I usually used the same school bag, regardless of outfit. As for accessories, I usually forgot them in my rush out the door...
